Train and Vehicle Involved in North Dallas Collision

Three people were injured after a Dallas Area Rapid Transit train was involved in a collision with a vehicle Monday evening in North Dallas.

The crash was reported at about 7:20 p.m. in the 8900 block of Restland Road.

A representative for DART said a southbound red line train was crossing through Restland approaching the LBJ/Central Station when a Lexus heading west drove through the intersection, apparently breaking the crossing arm, and hit the second car of the train.

Three people on the train were transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Lexus did not stay at the scene and has not been located.

Fire officials said the train derailed, but by 10 p.m. the train had continued its route.
