Three Shot, One Killed at Bachman Lake

Witness tells NBC 5 "jealousy" was the motive

One man is dead and two women are wounded following a late-night shooting Sunday in the parking lot of Bachman Lake Park in north Dallas.

Dallas police responded to the shooting call shortly after 10 p.m. along the 3300-block of W. Northwest Highway.

An SUV drove into to the parking lot shortly after 18-year-old Alexander Hock approached a group of women, according to police. A man in the SUV got into a "staring contest" with Hock, shortly before he pulled out a gun and opened fire, Hock's friend told NBC 5 News.

Hock was pronounced dead at Parkland Hospital.

Authorities say the two women suffered gunshot wounds that are not believed to be life-threatening. They are reportedly in serious condition at Parkland, but are expected to survive.

A large crowd was in the park prior to the shooting, according to the witness.  Officers questioned several of the people after the incident, but so far Dallas police have not yet released a description of the shooter.
