Power has been restored in Richardson after a power outage was caused by a construction lift. The City of Richardson tells us a main transmission line was struck by the lift just before Noon on Friday.
The accident happened near US-75 and Collins.
At one point 4,000 Oncor customers were without power, traffic lights were not working and several buildings had to be evacuated.
From Chopper 5 you could see people standing around in the area of where the construction lift is located.
According to the city, Oncor has installed a work-around in order to restore service to the area.
