Third Teenager Who Escaped Houston Juvenile Center Captured

The last of three teenagers who escaped from a juvenile probation center in Houston has been captured after almost a week of being on the run.

Deputy U.S. Marshal Alfredo Perez said Jahrell West was taken into custody around 1:15 p.m. Friday at a northeast Houston residence.

The Houston Chronicle reports that West was one of three 16 year olds who escaped from the Harris County Juvenile Probation Center Nov. 15.

Alferis Coby and another teen were captured Monday by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force. All three teenagers are back at the center.

Coby is charged with capital murder and West is charged with aggravated robbery. They will both stand trial as adults. The third teen, whose name has not been made public, is charged with aggravated robbery.

Their escape is the center's first since the facility opened nine years ago.
