The Power of Prayer During Dallas Tragedy

On the heels of the tragedy in Dallas, several churches hosted services in honor of the five slain police officers.

Michael Smith, who served the Dallas Police Department for 25 years, was also a uniformed security officer at Watermark Community Church.

Watermark hosts Saturday service once month at Kyle Warren Park. On Saturday, the focus was healing as a community.

"He did a great job of jumping in and caring for people," said Pastor Todd Wagner.

“Mike wasn’t just concerned with safety and security at Watermark or in Dallas. It genuinely troubled him when he saw people treated as objects or when protocol got in the way of personal care. He never compromised his responsibilities, but he never walked away from a compassionate response.”

More than a thousand people attended the service.
