Texas Man Faces Up to Life in Prison in Landlord's Slaying

A Central Texas man faces up to life in prison after being found guilty of murder in the shooting death of his landlord.

Hays County jurors Monday found 28-year-old Louis Anthony Ramos guilty of murder in the June 2014 shooting death of 48-year-old Johnny Saxton.

Ramos, who rented a trailer on Saxton's property, was also found guilty of two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for pointing a gun and threatening the lives of Saxton's 13-year-old daughter and his 75-year-old mother after the shooting.

Prosecutors say that earlier in the day of the shooting, Ramos had assaulted his girlfriend. After that, Saxton brought Ramos' girlfriend and her children to his house. Ramos eventually went to Saxton's house with a firearm, fatally shooting Saxton.
