The Texs Department of Motor Vehicles is considering 20 new license plate designs by private company My Plates.
A NASCAR plate, a Cowboys plate and a Texas Tech plate are among the proposed designs. But there is also an OU plate that has some Texas fans, such as Riley Harmon, seeing red.
"I think it's absolutely absurd," Harmon said.
Others, such as Ashanti Colbert, said they will buy the Oklahoma-branded plates.
"My dad is a big Sooner fan, and that's my home state, so I have to represent," she said.
The DMV board will vote on the plates next week. If approved, the OU plates would cost between $55 and $195.
