Officials at Frostburg State University in western Maryland say a 23-year-old graduate student from Texas has died after she was found at the bottom of the stairs in a classroom building.
University spokeswoman Liz Medcalf said Shera White, of Wichita Falls, reported feeling light-headed and having difficulty breathing when she was found by another student in the Guild Center on Tuesday.
Medcalf said White later died at a hospital.
Medcalf said the Combined County Criminal Investigation Unit for Allegany County told university officials late Wednesday that White suffered from a blood clot that moved to her lungs, causing her to become lightheaded, which led to her falling.
White, a graduate student in counseling psychology, had been a student at FSU since the 2012 fall semester.
