Texas Businessman Who Sold Synthetic Marijuana Pleads Guilty

A Central Texas businessman who sold synthetic marijuana at his smoke shop faces up to 20 years in federal prison.

Richard Young Bruce pleaded guilty Thursday in Waco to possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.

An undercover investigation led to charges against Bruce, who remains free pending sentencing.

Bruce's Cove Smoke Shack in Copperas Cove was raided last November. Officers seized more than 150 packets of synthetic marijuana and about $20,000 linked to the sales.
