Texas Amber Alert Over; Girl Safe, Uncle Arrested: Authorities

The Texas teenager at the center of an Amber Alert has been found safe, officials say.

Priscilla Elisabel Martinez, 13, was discovered Tuesday morning after a two-county police chase that ended in a crash with state troopers in Splendora, which is located approximately 40 miles northeast of Houston.

Martinez had been missing since last week and was believed to be traveling with her uncle, 41-year-old Rudolfo Nuncio, Jr.

The chase began in New Caney after officers found a silver pickup at a truck stop thought to be connected to the Amber Alert, according to Houston NBC affiliate KRPC.

Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies chased the truck to the city of Splendora, where they said the truck hit two vehicles, including a U.S. Marshal's vehicle.

Authorities attempted to use spike strips to stop the truck.

The driver drove around the spikes and struck a Department of Public Safety trooper's SUV head-on, bringing the chase to an end.

Martinez sustained minor injuries. No officers were hurt.

The driver, who has been identified as Nuncio, is in custody.
