Texas Actor Gives Original ‘Star Trek' a New Ending in 11 Episode Mini-Series

Star Trek fans rejoice!

An ending to the beloved 1960s TV show that was cut short is now a reality thanks to a Texas actor and his love of the show.

Vic Mignogna and his production team have been working on their 11-episode series, Star Trek Continues, and the season finale is now available.

The series first debuted back in March at the Dallas Fan Expo.

Mignogna stars as Captain James T. Kirk.

It's meant to bridge the gap between when the original show was canceled and when the motion pictures began.

"The finale episode will effectively end the five-year mission of the Enterprise, and leave all of the characters where they were when the motion picture rejoined them in the late 70s," said Mignogna. "Viewers will find many questions answered and feel a great sense of closure to this eara of Star Trek."

The show is a nonprofit production.

Mignogna said the love for the show is what inspired him and his team to create this mini-series, giving some fans the ending they've been waiting for for years.

Anyone can watch the episodes for free on the Star Trek Continues website.
