Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender Caught in Dallas

A convicted felon on the Texas Department of Public Safety's 10 Most Wanted sex offenders list has been caught at a home in Dallas.

DPS on Monday announced the capture of 37-year-old Jeffrey Noe Ortiz of Edinburg. Authorities say Ortiz was nabbed Dec. 16 thanks to a tip.

Ortiz, who's considered a high-risk sex offender, was wanted for failure to register as a sex offender, probation violation and for failure to appear.

Ortiz has convictions for sexual assault of a child, possession of child pornography, possession of a controlled substance and violation of a protective order/assault/stalking in cases since 2004.

DPS says a reward of up to $8,000 will be paid to the tipster.
