Texan Charged in Fatal Shooting of Wife During Her 911 Call

A North Texas man has been charged with fatally shooting his wife during her 911 call as the couple apparently argued.

Hood County jail records show 51-year-old Tommy George Dooley of Granbury was being held Saturday on a murder charge.

Online records don't list bond or an attorney for Dooley, who's charged with killing his 65-year-old wife, Lavera.

Sheriff Roger Deeds says the woman was shot six times in the disturbance Thursday night.

The victim's body was found in her vehicle after deputies responded to a 911 call in which the woman said she feared her husband was going to shoot her. The dispatcher then heard gunshots.

Deputies responded to previous domestic disturbance calls at the home in Granbury, 25 miles southwest of Fort Worth.
