Texan Gets 70 Years in Deaths of Woman, Her Boyfriend

A Southeast Texas man has been sentenced to 70 years in prison for the 2012 fatal shootings of a woman and her boyfriend as the men argued.

Jeremy Kneeland was sentenced Friday night in Beaumont.

Jurors hours earlier convicted Kneeland of manslaughter in the death of 26-year-old DeShondra Guillory at her home. Kneeland was convicted of murder in the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Israel Manuel.

Kneeland, who's 26, was charged with capital murder in both shootings in what authorities say was a drug-related investigation.

Kneeland was sentenced to 20 years on the manslaughter count and 70 years for the murder conviction, with the prison time to be served concurrently.

He'll be eligible for parole in 30 years.
