Passengers inside Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport's Terminal D were moved Friday after an unattended bag prompted a security response.

The unattended bag was reported to airport authorities after being found near Terminal D, Gate 22.

D/FW Airport Police arrived at the scene, established a Command Post outside the terminal and Grand Hyatt Hotel and investigated the luggage.

Passengers in the area, meanwhile, were relocated to Gate D18 during the investigation.

The bag was found to pose no threat and operations inside the terminal returned to normal.

Further details about the bag and it's owner were not given and airport officials would only confirm that they had a security issue, they checked it out and the situation is now over.

Officials with the airport said earlier this week they expect 1.89 million people to travel through the airport between Nov. 20 and Dec. 1, a 3 percent increase over last year. With recent world events, security at airports remains front of mind for many travelers.

On Thursday, NBC 5 Investigatespublished a report about heightened concerns at U.S. airports following the investigation into a Russian passenger plane believed to have been destroyed by terrorists.
