Teenagers Say Stop, Think, Don't Drink

Program aimed at curbing underage drinking

Three Carroll High School students want their friends to think before they drink.

The teenagers created a program called, "Game Over", where they set up a mock fatal car accident where one of the drivers is drunk.

Police warn spring and summer are the periods when underage drinking hit a peak because of graduations and other celebrations.

"I know a lot of people who do drink and do do drugs and they're a big part of my life and if they can see that I'm advocating you know not drinking and not doing drugs because they mean that much to me by doing something like the game over campaign it really shows them that maybe they should think twice about what they're doing, "said Carroll sophomore Taylor Schafer.

Grapevine police say they will not tolerate underage drinking and will strictly enforce state and local laws. "If we go to a party whether by a citizen complaint or we stumble upon it we go in and anybody who has consumed an alcoholic beverage will be cited for minor consumption of alcohol," said Sergeant Kim Smith.

Investigators also warn, anyone who supplies a minor with alcohol may face criminal charges.
