Teen With Heart Condition Found Dead at Track

A Fort Worth teen with a known heart condition was found dead beside the Paschal High School track on Saturday.

Xavier Ramirez, 17, was a junior at the school and was believed to be running or walking when he collapsed and died, the Star-Telegram reports.

Ramirez, who lived with his mother and brother in south Fort Worth, was found just after 11 a.m.  He went to the track while waiting for the laundry to finish.

Ramirez's mother, Maria Martinez, said her son had a heart condition.  She said he had plans to study engineering in college and that he loved to cook.

The Tarrant County medical examiner has not yet ruled on Ramirez's cause of death.

Visitation is planned for 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Amalla Funeral Home, 5210 McCart Avenue. A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 100 E. Pafford St., with burial planned for Greenwood Memorial Park.
