Teen Assaults Officer During Fight at Fort Worth School: Police

Officer deploys stun gun, but misses target, police say

A Fort Worth teen is facing charges of assaulting a police officer after a fight at Arlington Heights High School Tuesday.

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, officers at the school tried to stop a fight between a 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl.

While one officer tried to "gain control of the 17-year-old, another officer was assaulted by the 15-year-old," police said.

During the assault the officer deployed her stun gun, police said, but the contacts failed to connect.

Police said the 15-year-old was taken into custody and will be charged with assault on a public servant.
