A man convicted of raping a young woman more than 10 years ago outside a Tarrant County auto parts store has been sentenced to 50 years in prison.
Charles Anthony Green, 56, learned his sentence Friday in the February 2004 assault of a 19-year-old woman near a store along West Pioneer Parkway in Pantego.
Prosecutors said Green approached the woman as she left the store, forced her into her car at gunpoint and drove away before pulling over and raping her.
DNA evidence eventually linked Green to the crime, and he was convicted in April of aggravated sexual assault.
Green must serve 25 years before he is eligible for parole, according to the district attorney's office.
