Tanker Crash Closes Main Street at 820

The Texas Department of Transportation said it will take up to 8 hours to clean up after a tanker truck accident in North Fort Worth.

According to NBC 5 reporter Kevin Cokely who is on the scene, the entire cloverleaf at Loop 820 and North Main Street is shut down.

The tanker was carrying hot asphalt, which spilled out over the roadway after the crash. The tanker was carrying about 6,000 gallons of hot asphalt and 140 gallons of diesel fuel.

Fort Worth police say the driver took the ramp from eastbound Loop 820 too fast and rolled the vehicle.

The driver of the 18 wheeler was treated on the scene. No one else was hurt.
