Driver Falls Asleep, Crashes Milk Tanker Truck on I-30: Officials

The truck driver faces a charge of failure to maintain proper control, officials said

A tanker truck carrying milk went off the Interstate 30 overpass at MacArthur Boulevard and crashed in Grand Prairie early Tuesday morning.

According to fire officials in the Dallas suburb, the driver fell asleep, causing the tanker to veer off the interstate, crash into guardrail and fall down an embankment.

The driver, who has not been identified, was transported to a hospital and released with only minor abrasions. He faces a charge of failure to maintain proper control.

It took crews several hours to clean the massive milk spill.

All lanes have reopened.
