Suspicious Package on Train Turns Out to be Only a Lunchbox

Investigators say lunchbox was left behind by accident

An investigation into a suspicious package found on an Amtrak train Friday afternoon is over.

Member of the Fort Worth Police Department's Bomb Squad determined the device to be a lunchbox and that it was left behind by accident.

The investigation was conducted at the Fort Worth Intermodal Transportation Center on the 1000-block of Jones Street in downtown.

A spokesperson for the Trinity Railway Express told NBC 5 that while commuter train schedules were not impacted by the investigation, buses were prevented from entering the ITC for a short time while the investigation was under way.

By 4 p.m., buses that had been picking up passengers on the sidewalk were allowed back into the ITC.
