Suspects Arrested After String Of Armed Robberies Targeting Pizza Delivery Drivers: PD

Two men are behind bars in Denton, suspected of committing a string of armed robberies targeting to pizza delivery drivers, according to detectives.

Rolando Olvera and Victor Chairez are both facing an aggravated robbery charge, as well as other charges, said police.

Since October 20, three robberies were reported in the area of Fort Worth Drive and Roselawn Drive. In two of the cases, police said the victims vehicles were stolen.

Olvera and Chairez would order a pizza, said Denton Police Officer Shane Kizer, and while the delivery person was out of their vehicle, one suspect would hold them at gunpoint, while the other suspect stole the vehicle.

Olvera and Chairez were arrested on Halloween after Denton Police located and attempted to stop one of the stolen vehicles.

Investigators have served two search warrants and recovered numerous items linking the suspects to four residential burglaries, police said.

They say the investigation is on-going, and more charges will likely be filed.
