Suspect in Grand Prairie Slayings Found in New Mexico

A man suspected of killing his girlfriend and her teenage daughter at their Grand Prairie home has been captured in New Mexico.

Grand Prairie police say 45-year-old Kirkland Reed faced extradition Wednesday from Alamogorodo, N.M.

Law officers on Monday arrested Reed after locating him at a hospital. Police didn't immediately say why he was being treated.

Police on Sunday checked a Grand Prairie residence after a relative raised concerns about not being able to contact 44-year-old Jennifer Krieger and her 14-year-old daughter, Kelsie. Police forced their way into the home and found the bodies.

Investigators say the mother died of blunt force trauma. No cause of death was immediately released for the girl.
