Students Pepper-Sprayed During Fight at School: Dallas ISD Police

A Dallas school was placed on lock down Monday afternoon after students got into a fight, according to the Dallas Independent School District.[[303333511,C]]

At about 2 p.m., a small group of students at Billy Earl Dade Middle School started fighting on the third floor.

Dallas ISD police officers used pepper spray on the students to break up the brawl, Dallas ISD spokesman Andre Riley confirmed to NBC 5.

Dallas ISD Police Chief Craig Miller told our media partners at The Dallas Morning News that 15 students complained of pain after being pepper-sprayed.

Approximately 100 students were involved in the altercation, including kids who watched the fight, Riley said.

The cause of the fight is under investigation.
