Something Good: Strangers Joined by Language of Love

NBC 5 viewer Elizabeth Cardenas reached out to us with a picture from her grandmother's birthday of a single moment that reminds us the language of love is understood by all.

Cardenas wrote:

"Today we celebrated Grandma’s 79th Birthday. She requested a trip to the zoo, so off to the zoo we went. After spending all morning enjoying all the animals and family time well spent, we headed home. CiCi’s was our lunch stop. What we thought would be just a quick bite, would actually be a moment I will forever cherish. Grandma had a cinnamon roll cake, compliments of the buffet! We thought it was only going to be us singing Happy Birthday, but the whole restaurant joined us and sang along. Made Grandma feel extra special, our mission was complete! Or so we thought!

"When we were walking out the restaurant, a complete stranger stopped her to wish her a happy birthday, along with some birthday money. Grandma and this stranger shared a hug & for a moment they spoke the same language. I love how that one moment made us feel. We all felt goosebumps, seeing how strangers of different race can love one another despite all the negativity going on around the world. We never know how something so small, can make such a huge impact. It costs nothing to be nice to one another."
