Southlake Votes to Block Sale of K2

Synthetic marijunana is now illegal in Southlake.

The city council voted unanimously to ban the sale, possession or use of K-2 on Wednesday night.

Southlake police said they haven't seen anyone selling K-2, but adopting the ordinance will help the city avoid future problems.

Southlake joins a number of cities in North Texas that have banned the substance, and comes two weeks after the DEA made it illegal to sell or possess five chemicals commonly used to make synthetic marijuana.

The move by the DEA also prohibits the possession or selling of the products that contain those chemicals.
