South Texas Wreck Kills 14

Two injured die overnight, raising death toll to 13

A 14th person has died following the crash of a pickup truck overloaded with illegal immigrants in South Texas.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman Greg Palmore says nine people remain hospitalized following the most recent death.

Palmore says the 11 men and three females who died include illegal immigrants from Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala.

Trooper Gerald Bryant said investigators were working Monday to confirm the name of the driver. He says the truck was registered to another person in Houston.

U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officials are investigating the identities of the victims, which included men, women and children.

The accident occurred in rural Goliad County, about 90 miles southeast of San Antonio. Bryant says 23 people were packed into the pickup when it crashed.
