Social Media Posts Threaten Shooting at Kaufman High School, Two People in Custody

Authorities said they took two people into custody Sunday in connection with social media posts threatening a shooting at Kaufman High School.

Kaufman Independent School District officials were notified about Snapchat posts referencing a shooting at the school Monday, according to district Police Chief Pete Ferrara.

Investigators said they took a male student into custody for the felony offense of terroristic threat and transported him to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center. Officials said they also took the student that "perpetuated the allegations via social media" into custody.

Additional Kaufman ISD police officers will be on duty at the school Monday morning, according to Ferrara.

Authorities said anyone with questions or concerns can contact the school administration or district police.
