A smoking piece of luggage was found near a Southwest Airlines jet in Baltimore Thursday afternoon.
The incident was reported shortly after noon ET at Baltimore's Thurgood Marshall Airport, NBC's WBALTV.com reports.
The baggage was found near a SWA jet destined for Las Vegas.
A passenger told NBC 11 in Baltimore that they were removed from the plane and taken to a food court while the bomb squad was called to investigate the luggage.
The smoking item was determined to be a can of hairspray.
The squad cleared the bag by 1:30 ET and passengers were let back into the gate area.
