Smokers Fuming at TCC's Smoking Ban

Tarrant County College is forcing smokers to snuff their cigarettes on all of its campuses.

The school will still allow students to smoke in their cars, but may have a hard time enforcing a rule prohibiting the smokers from dumping ashes or cigarette butts on the pavement while sitting in their cars.

According to the Star-Telegram, the move to ban smoking came after a poll found 60 percent of the student population approved of the proposal.

The other 40 percent are likely fuming ... in their cars.

So far, there has been no word from TCC on how they plan to enforce the ban or how severely offenders may be punished.

A similar proposal is under consideration by the University of Texas at Arlington.
