Shots Fired at Dallas Police Officer

Dallas Police Officer Assaulted
Shots were fired at a Dallas Police officer who was making a routine traffic stop. Investigators said the officer had pulled over a driver in the 1900 block of E. Ann Arbor overnight when he heard shots being fired. The shots were coming from inside a Mustang which was being driven past the traffic stop scene. The officer and the driver in the traffic stop took cover and were not injured. Another officer in the area chased after the Mustang and managed to capture two suspects. They also found a gun and spent casings. Officers will recommend the ticket which was being issued during the traffic stop be dismissed considering the driver of that vehicle was in the line of fire and is now assisting in the investigation.

Arlington Fatal Crash
Traffic was backed up for hours on Westbound I-30 at North Cooper in Arlington. The fatal chain reaction crash happened early Tuesday morning. Investigators said it appears as if a vehicle was either stalled or slow moving, when the driver behind the slow moving car put on the breaks to avoid rear-ending the slow vehicle. But the driver who tried to avoid and accident was actually rear ended, sparking a multi-vehicle pile up. A woman believed to be in her mid-20s was killed in the crash.
