Passenger Killed in Roadway Shooting in Dallas

Dallas police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were called to the 1100 block of Warrior Drive at about 4 p.m. where a man who had been shot while riding in a car required treatment.

Police said the man, identified as 33-year-old William Tate, was riding in a vehicle when a person in another vehicle tried to flag them down as they drove along the U.S. 175 service road near Buckner Boulevard. That person then opened fire on Tate, hitting him several times.

The driver of the vehicle Tate was riding in drove to Warrior Drive where he stopped and called for help.

An ambulance drove Tate to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas where he was pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives with the Dallas Police Department are investigating the shooting.  So far,  a motive has not been established.
