Officials say a small plane en route to Gainesville, Texas` crashed into a lake in Orlando, killing two people aboard.
Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings says the deceased were a male in his 50s and a teenage woman.
He did not give names.
They had left Orlando Executive Airport near downtown Orlando when they had an issue and crashed into the water.
Boaters and kayakers on the lake were seen trying to get to the crash scene to help before rescue crews arrived.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the cause of the crash.
