Series of Robberies Around White Rock Lake

Dallas police are looking into at least two robberies within the past two weeks along the popular trail around White Rock Lake.

The most recent incident happened around sundown Thursday, when the two victims were walking near the dam and the spillway near Garland Road, police said.

According to the police report, the victims were approached by a man who threatened them with a butcher knife and demanded their money.

One of the victims gave over their cellphone and the other gave up their phone and their wallet. Once the robber had their valuables, he motioned with his hand in his pocket, as if he had a gun, and told them to run away or he would kill them, according to the victim's statement.

Thursday's incident is similar to one that happened the night of Friday, March 22, when a suspect threatened a victim with a knife, stole their wallet and bicycle, and told them to run away.
