Scruggs' Mother: Prayer for Miracle Comes True

Lauren Scruggs receives a prosthetic eye

The local blogger severely injured after walking into a plane propeller is improving, her mother said Friday.

Lauren Scruggs, editor of LoLoMag.com, lost her left hand and sustained a brain injury in the accident earlier this month.

"By the grace of our Lord Jesus, Lauren is recovering remarkably well, given the circumstances," said her mother, Cheryl Scruggs. "The doctors are very pleased with her progress."

She went on to say that Lauren Scruggs' left eye was removed Wednesday, and the 23-year-old from Plano received a prosthetic.

"We have been praying for a miracle," her mother said. "The miracle that Jesus gave us is a prosthesis. Lauren is a fighter and will overcome what lies ahead.
