Salvation Army Serves Thanksgiving Dinner to Thousands

Many people rely on the Salvation Army for a Thanksgiving meal each year.

The Salvation Army of Dallas served Thanksgiving dinner to more than 2,000 people Thursday, including turkey, pie, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans and yams.

The event started with a prayer service.

People from all walks of life came to the Salvation Army to enjoy the meal and each other.

Errol Spence, a professional boxer, volunteered to serve meals during the event.

"I needed to help people and serve people," Spence said.

Spence was among dozens of volunteers who helped make the event a success.
