Motorcyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on I-35E

Man in his 20s killed in overnight Dallas crash

The Dallas County Sheriff's Department is investigating an overnight, chain reaction crash that left a motorcycle rider dead.

The crash happened at about 2 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 35E between Inwood Road and Medical District Drive.

Deputies told NBC 5 the motorcycle rider, believed to be in his 20s, lost control and was thrown from his bike.

That crash caused several other vehicles to slam into one another, including a tractor trailer.

One of the vehicles, according to investigators, did not stop and ran over the body of the motorcycle rider and then fled the scene.  Witnesses described that vehicle as a white SUV.

Paramedics performed CPR on the man, but he was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Two of the northbound lanes of 35E were closed for more than three hours while crash scene investigators could do their work.

The victim's name has not yet been released.
