Rowlett Man Accused of Restaurant Fraud

A Texas man has been accused by federal authorities of a $268,000 computer fraud while he was working in a New Orleans restaurant.

An indictment issued Friday alleges that 39-year-old Shawn Michael Haygood, of Rowlett, Texas, produced false invoices for perishable food items he claimed to have purchased for the restaurant. At the time, Haygood was working as a purchaser and manager.

A grand jury alleges that the purchases were put into the restaurant's computer and Haygood used receipts to get cash. Authorities say the scheme lasted for 30 months.

Haygood could not be located for comment. It couldn't be determined if he had an attorney.
