Rough Takeoff at Alliance Airport

Emergency crews are on the scene of a plane that had a rough attempt at takeoff at Alliance Airport in Fort Worth Wednesday morning.

The Federal Aviation Administration says the pilot of the single-engine Cessna 182 inadvertently hit the landing gear switch on takeoff. The nose gear retracted forcing the plane to pitch forward on the runway.

Chopper 5 showed the plane nose down and tail up in the middle of the runway.

The FAA says three people were on board and there were no injuries.

The plane suffered minor damage to the nose gear according to Mercedes Bolen with Alliance Airport.

Bolen said there was no damage to the runway and no disruption to airport operations, but runway 16R was closed where the plane came to rest.

The FAA is investigating.
