Robbers Storm Busy Dallas Restaurants

Police are searching for a team of robbers who have stormed several North Texas restaurants and robbed customers while they were eating.

The most recent robbery took place Tuesday at a Waffle House on South Jupiter Road in Garland. Nearly every seat in the restaurant was taken when police say the robbers rushed in with guns drawn. “They do a lot of, you know, screaming and they've got the guns,” Dallas Police Sgt. Ross Salverino said. “It’s pretty intimidating.”

Police say one of the robbers goes after the cash register and the others go out in the dining area and rob the customers. “They will go through the restaurant with the patrons asking for their wallets, cell phone, and jewelry,” Sgt. Salverino said.

Since August, police suspect these same men robbed at least three restaurants in northeast Dallas including, Bobo China on New Church Road, The Boiling Crab on Walnut Street and Sharky's on Greenville Avenue. “We’ve had anywhere from a business with 4 or 5 people robbed at that location, to as many as a business and 15 to 20 people robbed,” Sgt. Salverino said.

The most recent robbery was Tuesday at the Garland Waffle House. “At this point, I don’t have an offense where someone was seriously injured,” Sgt. Salverino said. “But its just a matter of time.”
