Robber in Skull Mask Hits Lewisville Convenience Stores

Police in Lewisville believe a man in a Halloween mask has robbed three convenience stores at gunpoint in less than two weeks.

Capt. Jay Powell said the first incident happened on the morning of Nov. 1 and the second and third occurred Saturday evening within a short time.

All three robberies occurred on Fox Avenue within a couple of blocks from Interstate 35E. In each, a man wearing a mask that looks like a skull approached the store clerk and displayed a handgun. He demanded money and also asked for cigarettes in some instances, Powell said.

The description of the robber is vague. All of the clerks described him as slender.

Lewisville police are asking people in the area of the robberies to be cautious and let them know if they recognize the man from the surveillance photos. Most of all, they want to know if anyone recognizes the mask.

"We're hoping that maybe that will be the key -- that he's wearing it to hide his identity -- but we're hoping that will potentially lead to his identity," Powell said.

No injuries were reported in the robberies. Anyone with information can contact Lewisville police at 972-219-3600.
