Robber Hits Dallas Western Wear Store

Employee says he feared for his life

Dallas police are investigating a holdup at a Western wear store where the robber waited outside at closing time.

Marco Negron, an employee at Pink's Western World, said the man was waiting behind a back door. Employees usually kick or show the door in case someone is on the other side.

On Wednesday night, somebody was. The man was hit by the door and dropped his gun.

Negron went for it, but the robber got to the weapon first and made Negron take him into the office and the safe.

"About the first thing that went through my mind is, 'Am I going to see my kids again?" Marco said.

The robber told Negron and another employee inside to both stay down.

"Next thing on my mind is, OK, he has us on the floor," Marco said. "He's going to shoot us."

Negron called police after the robber left with the money. His boss told him to take Wednesday off, but he went back to work.

"We try our best to provide for our family and they want an easy way out by just coming in here and taking the money," he said.
