Road Rage Led to Shooting Near Lakewood Whole Foods: Police

Unclear if man will face charges in shooting

Dallas police say the man who shot another man near a Dallas Whole Foods Market Saturday night has been released from custody.

According to police, the shooter was questioned and let go after it was determined the victim, 25-year-old Francisco Alcarez, was an instigator in an incident that began as road rage.

Police said the the quarrel started up the road from the grocery store before ending in the parking lot.

Following the shooting, Alcarez filed an aggravated assault report.

While the shooter has been released from custody, it is not yet clear if he will face charges. Dallas police said Monday that the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
