Ridgmar Mall renovations are going swimmingly.
The Fort Worth mall is adding an interactive aquarium in late 2017, which will be complete with more than 300 species and 1,500 animals from around the world. It would occupy 27,000-square-foot space in the mall.
The SeaQuest Interactive Aquarium “will house exotic exhibits full of sea life, rainforest reptiles, tropical birds, vast desert species and much more,” said Alicia King, the director of public relations at ThreeSixOh PR. GK Development Inc. owns Ridgmar.
There are two other SeaQuest aquariums in Las Vegas and Utah. Garo Kholamian, the president of GK Development, said he hopes the Ridgmar location will be a family spot for Fort Worth residents.
“SeaQuest Interactive Aquarium is family-friendly fun for all ages and will help create the ultimate experience for the mall’s customers,” Kholamian said.
The exhibit is part of a remodeling of Ridgmar Mall.
Separate from the aquarium, the mall's owners are adding new retail, entertainment and dining establishments in 120,000-square-foot space in the lower level of Ridgmar Mall.
Recently, Cinemark Theater was remodeled at the mall and they've added Fort Worth’s first H&M store.
