Richland Teen Killed in Crash Between Classes

Another high school student has been killed in a car crash, the second in as many weeks during school hours and the third this month.

On Tuesday, 18-year-old senior Colin Parks was traveling from the Birdville ISD's Center of Technology and Advanced Learning to Richland High School when his car was struck from behind in a six-vehicle crash, the Star-Telegram reports.

Parks was transported to North Hills hospital, where he later died.

Another Birdville student, Birdville high senior Zach Johnson, was seriously injured in the crash and was flown by air ambulance to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.

Parks, the Star-Telegram reports, was a father-to-be and was taking classes at the technology center to get a jump-start on his career as an electrician.

Funeral arrangements for Parks have not yet been released.
