Crime Stoppers offers $5,000 reward for informatio leading to arrest

Lancaster police are asking for the public's help in solving the shooting deaths of a mother and son.

Armed gunmen shot and killed Alma Guerrero, 57; and Roberto Galvan, 26; at their home in the 500 block of Rea Avenue four days before Christmas.

Police said Thursday Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case.

Guerrero's husband and a second son were kidnapped seconds before the shootings and later released unharmed a few blocks away.

"During the investigation, detectives learned that masked gunmen kidnapped Galvan's father and his brother outside the home as they were leaving for work," Lt. Cliff Wherley said.

Investigators said several armed people stormed the home Dec. 21 and confronted the father and son in the driveway. Other armed people entered the home and shot Guerrero and Galvan.

"I can't believe something like this can happen and someone can just walk into someone's house and do this," said Martha Galvan Pena, Guerrero's niece. "It's just so unbelievable. It's hard to still be able to deal with it and accept it."

Police said the gunmen wore masks and spoke Spanish. As many as four people could be involved in the case, police said.

NBC 5's Ray Villeda, Frank Heinz and Randy McIlwain contributed to this report.
