Congressman Joe Barton will be attending the Alzheimer's Association-North Central Texas Chapter Early Stage Social Group's Coffee with Congress event Friday, May 8 at 10:45 a.m.
Rep. Barton will be learning about Alzheimer's disease as well as discussing legislative priorities and answering questions from participants.
The event serves to educate people about the needs and concerns of individuals with Alzheimer's disease, dementia and their caregivers.
The Alzheimer's Association says that Alzheimer's disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States and in Texas. They hope that educating federal legislators will help make Alzheimer's disease a national priority.
The Alzheimer's Association is located at 2630 West Freeway in Fort Worth.
