Recycled Silk Mats Sold in TX on Recall List

The silk floor mats may have tacks or staples sewn into the fabric

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Cost Plus are recalling recycled silk floor mats for exposing feet to possible injury.

The Oakland, Calif. distributor warned that approximately 17,000 silk floor mats may have tacks or staples sewn into the fabric that can cause foot injuries.

Only one incident has been reported where a consumer noticed a tack in a mat. Aside from this isolated incident, no injuries have been reported.

The mats were sold at nationwide Cost Plus World Market stores from June 2011 through May 2012 for about $17.

The mats measure 2 ft. by 3 ft. and were sold exclusively at World Market. The recalled mats can be identified by the SKU 441536 that can be found on the mat’s white care label.

If you have one of these recalled mats, return them to any cost Plus World Market store for a full refund. You can find a location near you by visiting www.worldmarket.com.
