Randy Seibel Sentenced in Robbery That Left 2 Dead

A North Texas man has been sentenced to life in prison for his role in a 2010 convenience store robbery that left a delivery driver and a clerk dead.

Prosecutors in Fort Worth did not seek the death penalty in the capital murder trial of Randy Seibel of Granbury. Seibel was convicted Monday and received an automatic life prison term with no chance for parole.

The shooting victims were 70-year-old Jerry Burnett and 22-year-old Daniel Rojas-Torres.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports both sides agreed Kwame Rockwell was the gunman. Rockwell in January was convicted and sent to death row.

Chance Smith pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery and agreed to testify for the prosecution. Smith received 20 years in prison in the plea agreement.

Two other defendants await trial.
